I have just discovered this excellent humorous murder mystery series. The Queen (Mother) is dismayed to find herself falling over the dead body of her footman. The first on the scene is housemaid, Jane Bee. The two quickly realize that it isn't suicide, as the Palace is rumouring, but murder.

Working together, Jane and the Queen, find secrets of high order. This book was an updated look at the Queen and life within Buckingham Palace.

I loved the humor and behind the scenes glimpses of daily life. The mystery was a good one also. I'm looking forward to reading the next one in the series.

Although the cover art gave me pause (I thought it might be too tongue in cheek) I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Jane Bee is a charming character and the glimpse into the world of the royals is fun

I personally don't like unseemly language or I would have given it a fourth star.
One of the best-written books I've read in years. This author doesn't let you down. I wish he'd write more of these "Queen" and "Jane Bee" books. His new series, "Twelve Days of Christmas books," with sleuth The Rev. Tom Christmas, is intriguing, but in a way I like these older books better. This narrator, Jane Bee, is a witty, fun, believable and more versatile character than Rev. Christmas has been so far.

Mr. Benison, please consider returning to your oh-so-clever Jane Bee mode again -- in addition to the Tom Christmas tomes.
